Given the current climate we're in, with the war in Iraq and the recent terrorists threats, I think that the Pope made a huge misstep in referring to the medieval quote.

What in the heck was he trying to do?

He says that the quote doesn't reflect how he feels about Islam. I find that strange.

Normally when someone quotes someone else it's because that person has a shared shared.
