Dr. Carol A. Pollio has actively served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve for the past 27 years and holds the rank of Commander. She is currently the Field Operations Supervisor for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Northeast Region, where she manages 13 Ecological Services field offices from Maine to Virginia.

Dr. Pollio is also the Program Director for the Environmental Studies degree program at American Military University.

Dr. Carol Pollio received a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Public Policy from George Mason University, a Master of Science in Environmental Science from Marshall University, and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from Rutgers University.


William TuckerWilliam Tucker serves as a senior security representative to a major government contractor where he acts as the Counterintelligence Officer, advises on counterterrorism issues, and manages automated information system security. His additional duties include advising his superiors in matters concerning emergency management and business continuity planning. He is also the author of the World of Terrorism Blog, a website dedicated to educating the public about terrorism, intelligence (geopolitical/strategic), violent religious movements, and psychological profiling.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Tucker served in the U.S. Army where he frequently briefed superior military officers in global terrorist movements and the modernization of foreign militaries. Additionally, he advised Department of Defense Police on domestic and international terrorist movements and trends in guerilla attacks. Mr. Tucker was chosen as the Communications and Electronics Command NCO of the Year and Tobyhanna Army Depot NCO of the Year. His military awards include the Meritorious Service, Army Commendation Medal (two awards), Army Achievement Medal (three awards), Army Good Conduct Medal (three awards), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (two awards), and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (two awards), Army Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal.

Mr. Tucker received his B.A. and M.A. in Homeland Security ( both with Honors from AMU. Mr. Tucker also holds an Undergraduate Certificate in Weapons of Mass Destruction Preparedness from AMU. Mr. Tucker lives with his family in Tooele, UT.

Jenni HestermanJenni Hesterman is a retired Air Force colonel and counterterrorism expert. She is a senior analyst for The MASY Group, a Global Intelligence and Risk Management firm that supports both the U.S. Government and leading corporations. She is also a full-time professor at American Military University (AMU) teaching courses in homeland security and intelligence studies and is a contributing editor for The Counter Terrorist Magazine. Shelley SmithShelley Smith is an expert in analysis and research on a variety of topics and issues that include national and international security, homeland security, terrorism and counterterrorism, law enforcement, and criminal justice systems. Smith is currently pursuing an Master's in Intelligence Studies Capstone with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies at AMU.




Irvin VarkonyiIrvin Varkonyi has nearly three decades of experience in air transportation and logistics. He was most recently Sales Principal with responsibility for business development in third party logistics and order fulfillment with the DDD Company, Landover, MD. The organization provides successful outsourcing tools for government and commercial organizations, improving organizational efficiency and reducing the cost of fulfillment. From 1994 until 2001, he was Manager, Government Project Development with Emery Worldwide at their Dulles Airport Government Sales Office. He earned the President's Award as team leader responsible for increasing the company's revenue by 400% under the Air Mobility Command's Civil Reserve Air Fleet entitlements in Emery's partnership with commercial carriers.

Varkonyi holds an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) in Glendale, AZ and a B.A. in International Relations and Economics from Clark University in Worcester, Mass. He is a member and the Educational Chair of the National Capital Area Roundtable of CLM. He also holds membership and is the current chair of the Emergency Preparedness Committee of the Washington, DC Chapter of the National Defense Transportation Association.

Varkonyi is currently a program manager for transportation and logistic management degree programs at American Military University (AMU). At AMU, he also serves as an adjunct professor.


Joseph VarnerJoseph Varner has a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in International Relations and a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from Acadia University. He has held two Department of National Defence, Security and Defence Forum Awards, one, a Study Tour of NATO and Europe, and a Research Fellowship of one year with the Naval Officers' Association of Canada. Varner has certificates in Emergency Program Management, Hazardous Materials, and Disaster Recovery from the Federal Emergency Management Institute in Maryland and Certificate in Security Supervision from the International Foundation of Protection Officers. As a reserve infantry officer, he served as a Platoon Commander, Company Second-in-Command, Intelligence Officer and Adjutant. Mr. Varner is currently a Senior Advisor to the Minister of National Defence in Canada.

Aaron RichmanAaron Richman is the Co-Director for the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response in Philadelphia and Israel, where he is responsible for the global Targeted Actionable Monitoring Center's intelligence and research projects.

He specializes in emergency planning and training for incidents of weapons of mass destruction and suicide bombings. Richman has conducted various research projects dealing with best practices in terror response and command considerations for such incidents.

Mr. Richman comes from a career in military and law enforcement in the Middle East. After serving military tours in Israel, he was recruited to the Central Command of the Israel National Police where he worked in various capacities at a command level to include, narcotics, counter terrorism and operations.

Mr. Richman has a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Temple University, as well as various specialized counter terror training in the U.S. and Israel. Currently, Richman is a Doctoral candidate in Public Policy and Homeland Security and lectures for the master's degree programs for Philadelphia University and American Military University.
